Dual Sport News and the associated KLR community at Yahoo! Groups were a big part of the inspiration to start Big Cee Engineering. If you're interested in adventure touring, you might be interested in a subscription to Dual Sport News. If you want to know more about the KLR, the KLR group at Yahoo can help you out.

Advocacy Groups

The American Motorcyclist Association fights for the rights of motorcyclists in general. The Blueribbon Coalition is a land-access rights group devoted to keeping public lands open to the public, and CORVA fights for offroader's rights in California. If you're not a member, I urge you to join.

Manufacturers/Suppliers

If Big Cee doesn't make it, it's probably because someone else already does. Note that inclusion of a link below does not necessarily constitute an endorsement, as I may not have tried their products. Caveat Emptor.

Chaparral and Dennis Kirk are mail order supply houses that carry a variety of aftermarket parts and accessories.

Ron Ayers Motorsports offers factory parts via internet ordering, and has a price lookup right on their website. This lets you check prices without going to your dealer and saying, "No thanks, I think I'll get that kidney operation instead." (Find the part numbers from the fiche at Buykawasaki.com). Arrowhead Motorsports can supply factory parts for any make, as well as aftermarket accessories. If you are unsure about what you need, you can call Fred and ask him. I recommend supporting your local dealer if possible, but if they are jerks, these are good options. Speaking of local dealers, mine is Temple City Power Sports. With seldom a weenie behind the counter, they know me by name even though I'd hardly consider myself a frequent customer.

Aerostitch/RiderWarehouse is one of my favorites; they make a variety of luggage and clothing, and carry accessories for adventure touring. I indulged myself with their titanium tire irons; my friends thought they were pretty frivolous until they actuall felt how light they were! Tammy, at Totally Wired Cycles, makes a variety of electrical parts for KLRs, including voltage monitors, and wiring harness connectors. CycoActive makes some interesting products, like motorcycle map cases. They also carry a wide variety of GPS mounts. Happy Trails makes a variety of luggage mounts, as well as highway pegs and radiator guards.
