This device was discovered during the excavation of an old university
test equipment repository. The purpose of the device is unknown. It appears
to randomly generate four-letter strings of characters, consisting of
English words, late 20th century abbreviations, and occasional gibberish.
The age of the device is mixed: The body appears to be from the 1930s,
while the internal circuitry is clearly of 1990s vintage. The fragile, glass display tubes
are very rare in the present day, given the events of the first half of the 21st century.
